Ms. Afshan Shahid, Vice Principal, Girls Wing is a woman of calibre, principles and precision. She is M.Sc. in Chemistry and equipped with a B.Ed. degree from University of Punjab, Lahore, she joined the Pakistan International School Qatar as lecturer in Chemistry in 1996. Throughout her career as a teacher, she has worked with the motto that teaching profession demands a complete involvement of mind, heart and spirit. For the last 19 years she has been effectively teaching Chemistry in Grades 9 to 12. She has also shouldered various key responsibilities of the Girls Wing such as Exam Office, In charge of Federal Board Affairs and syllabus, In charge Students’ profiles as well as that of the Coordinator of Chemistry. She has been actively involved in co-curricular and extracurricular activities of the wing as a House Mistress and In charge Science Club. She has twice served as Vice Principal of the Wing. She is an avid reader of both English and Urdu Literature. She has a keen interest in poetry as well as prose. As Vice Principal Girls Wing, Mrs. Afshan Shahid aims at imparting holistic education and making learning a joyful experience. Her modus operandi includes adopting scientifically approved modern methods of teaching: “of bringing the world into the classroom”. There is no doubt that under her watchful guidance, all the teachers of Girls Wing aspire to emerge as successful facilitators of learning and infuse in all students an eternal quest for knowledge and make PIS a Citadel of excellence, perfection and joy.
